Product Description
In one's lifetime, a few people stand out as having more influence and importance than others. Allan Arthur Willman was such a person to me. However, not just to me but also to many of his students and friends. He had fantastic musical talent and technique, playing the most difficult piano literature with ease, hardly moving in performance. He also wrote beautiful, complex, but listenable music, for which he won awards. His demeanor was calm, quiet, and unassuming. As Chairman of the Music Department at the University of Wyoming and Professor of Piano and Music Theory, he privately taught very few students. Those of us who were privileged to be his students benefited not only from his great musical talent and teaching ability but also from his quiet demeanor. Most of us were just out of high school, away from home for the first time, and dealing with all that “Freshman Angst.” He also made sure that scholarships were available for deserving students. Read more about this musical journey in the book!
